Colindale has something to offer everyone. It’s a great place for commuters who need proximity to Central London, and also for families, thanks to its wealth of good schools and local attractions. Factor in the plentiful amenities and affordable properties, and you’ve got an excellent spot to live in.

If you’re thinking of moving to Colindale, here are just a few reasons to convince you to go for it.

Five reasons to move to Colindale

It’s the ideal location for commuters

Colindale is perfect for those who work in Central London. It’s served by two Tube stations; Colindale on the Northern line, and Kingsbury on the Jubilee line. Trains take travellers to Kings Cross station in around 22 minutes, and Camden Town in around 17 minutes, and other major stations (like Bank, Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road) can all be reached in less than 30 minutes.

There are also numerous buses operating in the area, which carry passengers all around Central London, and further afield.

It’s got a wide variety of houses on offer

Homebuyers looking to invest in Colindale will find that there’s a good range of property styles to choose from. The most popular houses tend to be the 1920s and 1930s homes, which often come with a driveway and garden, not to mention generously sized living space. Fans of contemporary architecture are also spoiled for choice, as there are several new developments in the area.

Young professionals will appreciate the stylish luxury apartments, which tend to have open-plan layouts and state-of-the-art fixtures and fittings. Those looking for a bargain won’t be disappointed either, as there are some very affordable studio flats and smaller apartments here.

It’s good for a night out

With Leicester Square such a short journey away, many of Colindale’s residents often head into the capital for an evening out. However, make no mistake, there are also plenty of good restaurants and bars right on your doorstep!

Bang Bang Oriental, London’s largest Asian food court, is a great example, as is Fat Angelo’s and The Beaufort pub. After your meal, you might want to spend the evening at The Hurricane Room; Colindale’s popular snooker and pool club.

There’s lots to see and do

The RAF Museum is Colindale’s most famous attraction, and a must-visit location for aviation fanatics. It has a range of interactive exhibits, which detail the RAF’s rich and fascinating history. Best of all, it’s free to enter.

Another major attraction that’s easy to get to is Wembley Stadium. It’s just three miles from Colindale, which is a big draw for prospective homebuyers. This is also the home of the London Designer Outlet, which has a great range of designer shops and places to eat. Allianz Park is even closer – just over a mile away.

It has excellent schools

Colindale is popular with families, thanks to its high-performing schools. The Orion Primary School was awarded ‘outstanding’ in its recent Ofsted report. St James Catholic School is another good example, and again, usually gets excellent exam results from its students.
