If you’re considering purchasing a home in North Finchley, here are a few more reasons to convince you to start searching today.

Five reasons to move to North Finchley

There are big plans in place for its future

Plans are already underway to regenerate parts of North Finchley, which is great news for residents. In 2019 the local council signed a contract with U + I and Joseph Partners to redevelop North Finchley High Road. This will create an exciting new retail environment based on the requirements of people living in the area.

Funding has also been allocated (from the Outer London Fund) to enhance the cultural offering in North Finchley and to improve existing outdoor spaces. This regeneration is likely to have a knock-on effect on property prices – so it’s a good idea to buy a home here sooner rather than later.

It’s got a great cultural / entertainment scene

North Finchley has plenty to offer its residents. There are a wealth of restaurants, bars and pubs, which is ideal for an evening out with friends. The ArtsDepot is a much-loved cultural venue and is home to a cinema, theatre and art gallery. There’s also the Great North Leisure Park which has a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley and several restaurants.

Of course, if you’d like a really special night out or want to watch an unforgettable theatre performance, Central London is just a short journey away.

There are plenty of good schools in the area

You’ll find several great schools in North Finchley – both primary and secondary. For example, The Compton School is highly rated and was awarded ‘outstanding at its latest Ofsted report. St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School and The Wren Academy are also very well regarded.

It’s well-connected

It’s really easy to get around in North Finchley. The area is served by two tube stations – Woodside Park and West Finchley, and both of these are located under a mile away from Tally Ho Corner. These take commuters into Central London in around 20 minutes, which is a big advantage for those who work in the city. North Finchley is also close to the M1 and the North Circular, and multiple buses operate in the area.

It’s got a diverse property market

It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time buyer or a family looking for a larger home; you’re sure to find what you’re searching for here. At one end of the scale, you’ll find palatial detached properties, which offer large gardens and sweeping driveways. There are also numerous semi-detached and terraced homes, which are especially popular with young families. And, if you’re working to a budget, the wealth of affordable apartments on the market will undoubtedly tempt you.
