Five Reasons to Move to Mill Hill East

Mill Hill East has been a popular area for many years, and its desirability continues to grow. It has a convenient location in the NW7 postcode, with easy access to Central London, not to mention several major roads leading to other parts of the country.

However, it’s much more than a typical ‘commuter zone’. Mill Hill East has a real sense of community, with great things to do, plenty of green space, and some fantastic homes to choose from.

If you’re considering moving to Mill Hill East, here are five reasons to start your property search today.

Five reasons why Mill Hill East is so great

The property market is thriving

There’s a vast variety of homes for sale in Mill Hill East, and it’s definitely a place to consider if you like luxurious modern developments. Some of the finest examples are in Lidbury Square, which offers stylish living for homebuyers of all ages.

You’ll find some period architecture here too. For example, there’s an abundance of spacious 1930s houses, usually with driveways and gardens. Some of these properties have been subdivided into flats offering fantastic value for money.

The new Millbrook Park development has a comprehensive range of brilliant new build homes and is still growing. Boasting 1, 2, 3, and 4 bed homes, there really is something for everyone in this thriving community in the heart of Mill Hill East. Located opposite Mill Hill East underground station, it only takes 23 minutes to get on the train to Kings Cross. It also benefits from a nearby Waitrose supermarket and Virgin Active gym.

It’s easy to reach Central London (and beyond)

The refurbished Mill Hill East station opened in 2007, and its trains take commuters to the heart of the capital in just 25 minutes. This is a big advantage for city workers or those who want to enjoy a big evening out with friends and family.

If you prefer to drive, the M1 and A1, as well as the A406, are only a short distance away from the area.

There’s plenty to do

One thing that Mill Hill East residents love is its proximity to Brent Cross Shopping Centre, which has a huge number of high-street stores to peruse, selling everything from designer clothes to the latest gadgets. There’s also a Co-op located in Millbrook Park that now provides residents with their shopping essentials. The Royal Air Force Museum is also popular and makes a great trip out for all the family. There are also some great local independent and boutique shops in the area, adding to Mill Hill East's community-led feel.

If you’d rather do something more relaxing, there are numerous parks to enjoy a stroll in. Dollis Valley Greenwalk feels like a world away from the bustle of the capital, and Bittacy Hill Park is just a short distance from the train station.

Ideal for families

The schools in Mill Hill East tend to perform well, which is a major draw for parents. Among the highest-rated are Dollis Primary School, Frith Manor School, and Millbrook Park CE School, which usually do very well at Ofsted. There are plenty of activities for kids to enjoy outside of term time, too. Belmont Farm is a great example and is much-loved by children of all ages, as are the Powerleague 5 a side facility if you like to play football. There’s also a family run garden centre called Finchley Nurseries nearby that offers everything you need to transform your outdoor space.

It’s good for a night out

Mill Hill East has some lovely independent pubs and bars, making it the ideal spot to spend an evening with friends or family. The Adam and Eve is an upmarket pub with a friendly atmosphere. Of course, if you’re looking for a special night out, London’s West End is just a short train journey away.
