Finchley has a great reputation with local residents not only because of the wide variety of properties that are available, but there is also a lot to enjoy after dark. If you are new to the area or simply want to know what it has to offer, take a look at our guide to some great restaurants in Finchley.

Izgara Finchley

If you have a soft spot for Turkish cuisine, then Izgara’s Finchley branch is a must visit. You can enjoy authentic contemporary Turkish/Mediterranean food and drink right throughout the day, with a heavy focus on flavour. There’s always a great atmosphere and the restaurant can hold up to 110 people – 60 of which is set aside for private parties. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are also covered and you’ll find it on Hendon Lane.

The House

Not just any old house, as The House is one filled with gorgeous modern Italian and Mediterranean dishes. It’s located on Ballards Lane a short distance from Finchley Central tube and has a great reputation in the area. Whether you are dining with friends, family or a loved one, you’ll love the food on offer, with ingredients sourced from quality suppliers. Take your pick from homemade lasagne and steamed mussels and much more.

Flames

Flames is a Mediterranean/Greek restaurant open throughout the day, so your favourite food is nearly always available to enjoy. Take one look at the reviews and you’ll see that customers love the cooking and atmosphere, complemented by friendly and helpful staff. Enjoy classic dishes like moussaka and kleftiko, or if you really want to go all out, their charcoal grilled octopus special is one you’ll never forget. Head to Leisure Way to check it out.

Beheshte Barin

On Ballards Lane you’ll find the Iranian delight of Beheshte Barin, a little haven known for its delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. The décor has a warm, rustic feel with old Persian lamps and genuine antiques lining the space, taking you away from the stresses of the world outside, before filling your plate and belly with fantastic, traditional Iranian cuisine. From freshly cooked kebabs to tanour oven-baked bread, it’s a place you’ll return to time again.

The Engine Rooms

In the basement of The Engine Rooms you’ll find a speciality wine cellar and bar, while the eye-catching industrial-style design of the restaurant is pretty unique. The menu takes inspiration from classic Mediterranean recipes, all done with a fresh modern twist. When the weather is warm, the courtyard is the place to be, offering one of the best in local al-fresco dining. Great North Road is where you’ll find this little gem.

Vynam

If you need to quell a need for Southeast Asian cuisine, then booking a table at Vynam should be a priority. Located on Regents Park Road, it serves up some of the finest Vietnamese food in Northwest London, with a simple but relax atmosphere that puts all the focus on the dishes delivered to your table. It’s as authentic as it comes and the only surprise is that even more people in London haven’t discovered its charms.
