Posted on Wednesday, May 23, 2018

Borehamwood has something to offer everyone; from families with children, to commuters looking for easy access to London. It’s also got a great range of houses available, with something to suit most budgets.

If you’re considering moving to Borehamwood, here are seven reasons why it’ll be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Seven Great Reasons to Live in Borehamwood

It boasts excellent transport links

Borehamwood is ideally situated for London workers, as the train from Borehamwood & Elstree station takes travellers to London St Pancras in around 20 to 25 minutes. There are also regular trains to both Gatwick and Luton airport (with flights to virtually every major destination in the world), plus good road connections, thanks to the M25, M1 and A1 being right on your doorstep.

There are great schools in the area

Schools are always a top priority for families, so it’s good to know that Borehamwood’s schools offer a high standard of education for all ages. Of particular note is Yavneh College, which was recently rated as ‘outstanding’ in its Ofsted report. Other good schools in the area include Summerswood Primary and St Teresa’s Roman Catholic Primary.

It’s got lots to see and do

There’s plenty to keep you amused in Borehamwood. Kids will love the Megajump Trampoline Park plus there’s also a cinema and theatre. The most famous attraction is Elstree Studios which still hosts several TV programmes, including the X Factor, Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing. Although not open to the public it’s possible to get tickets to watch the shows.

There’s a wide range of properties on the market

Whatever you’re looking for you’re likely to find the right properties in Borehamwood. The 1950s semi-detached houses are highly sought-after as are the larger detached properties which often come with plenty of outdoor space. At the other end of the market, there are several studio apartments and smaller terraced properties on offer.

It has an abundance of green areas

Although Borehamwood is close to the capital, it doesn’t feel like it, thanks to its plentiful parks. Aldenham Country Park is particularly noteworthy and is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon’s stroll.

It’s great for shopping

Of course one of Borehamwood’s main attractions is its proximity to the capital which makes it easy to get to London’s finest shopping districts. That’s not to say however that the town doesn’t offer some good shopping of its own. Borehamwood Shopping Park in Theobold Street is home to several high street stores and is the ideal spot for resident shopaholics.

There’s a sense of community

Borehamwood has a real sense of community which is evident from its range of local events, its newspaper and support for the local team, Borehamwood F.C. This makes a welcome change for people who’ve moved into the area from London and offers a chance to get to know your neighbours and be an active part of the community.
